WOW! Women On Writing announces two very special author blog tours!
Blog Tour dates:
October 20, 2008 - November 30, 2008
Come and join the fun! Meet the authors and visit their fabulous blog hostesses.
|
|
Dear ,
We're thrilled to announce the launch of WOW! Women On Writing Author Blog Tours! Blog tours are becoming very popular with authors and are a great way to reach a diverse readership.
I know some of you must be wondering...what exactly is a blog tour? A blog tour is similar to an author's book tour, but it's hosted online, instead of at, say, a bookstore. The touring author visits a number of blogs (otherwise known as "blog stops") over a set period--typically, a month.
Authors use this format to buzz their book, connect with readers, and have fun! It's a wonderful way to network with a readership the author might never get to meet in "real" life. For instance, this tour takes us across the U.S. and to Canada, and even Ireland, all in one month! Even the most gregarious traveler couldn't conquer that much territory in such a short time. But it's not about the territory covered, it's about the interesting people you meet along the way.
The two authors we bring you this month are not only excellent writers with fascinating books, they're wonderful new friends. These ladies have gone out of their way to provide you with unique articles for each blog, and no two blogs are the same. I have to tell you, I really worked these ladies! They've written articles on the topics of family, cake decorating, health issues, yoga, inspiration, and of course, craft of writing articles. They are also conducting interviews, and participating in book giveaways!
Are you excited? I am! Come and join us on this fabulous journey! Let's meet the authors, shall we?
~ Angela ~ (Your hostess)
* Feel free to copy any part of this email and share it on your own blog or in your newsletter. PS. Gayle kicks off her tour today on WOW! Women On Writing! Head over to The Muffin and leave a comment. Those who comment will be entered in a drawing to win a copy of Murder Takes the Cake on CD.

Gayle Trent's Bio:
Gayle Trent is a full-time author. She is currently at work on a new
cozy mystery series involving her hobby, cake decorating. The series
features Daphne Martin, a 40-year-old divorcee who has begun the second
phase of her life with a new home and a new business venture--Daphne's
Delectable Cakes. Gayle lives in Bristol, Virginia with her husband,
daughter and son. Gayle previously worked in the accounting
and legal fields, and her last such job was as secretary to a Deputy
Commissioner in the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission. Though
she enjoyed the work, it was a long daily commute and she felt she
wasn't spending enough time with her family. Now she writes while her
children are at school; and thanks to a crock pot and a bread machine,
can often have dinner ready when everyone gets home. "I think it's important to be here for my children...to take part in school functions and to be an active part of their lives," Gayle says. "I can certainly sympathize with moms who work outside the home--been there, done that--but I would encourage everyone to make time to visit their children's schools, to have lunch with them [at school] occasionally, to get a feel for who their friends are...little things like that." Gayle loves to hear from readers who can contact her by email: gd830@hotmail.com Visit Gayle's Websites:

cake."
When the meanest gossip in Brea Ridge dies mysteriously, suspicions
turn to cake decorator Daphne Martin. But all Daphne did was
deliver a spice cake with cream cheese frosting. And find Yodel's
body. Now Daphne's got to help solve the murder and clear her good
name. Problem is, her Virginia hometown is brimming with people
who had good reason to kill Yodel, and Daphne's whole family is among
them. ISBN:

Off Kilter A Woman's Journey to Peace with Scoliosis, Her Mother, & Her Polish Heritage
By Linda C. Wisniewski
Even before she was diagnosed with scoliosis at thirteen, Linda Wisniewski felt off kilter. Born to a cruel father and a long-suffering mother in the insulatedPolish Catholic community of upstate New York, she learned martyrdom as a way of life. Off Kilter shows her learning to stretch her Self as well as her spine as she comes to terms with her mentally deteriorating, widowed mother and her culture. Only by accepting her physical deformity, her emotionally unavailable mother, and her Polish American heritage does she finally find balance and a life that fits. Susan Wittig Albert calls Off Kilter a "splendid first memoir about the difficult business of finding balance in our lives. Funny, honest, deeply moving, Off Kilter reminds us just how hard it is to adjust to the physical pain, the emotional loss, and even the surprising beauty of being fully who we are."
ISBN: 978-1-59719-012-1
To purchase a Off Kilter, please visit Pearlsong Press.
