Bob Snyder Retires as FACC President and Omar Soubra Elected as FACC President
Bob announced his decision to the Board of Directors in September that he would retire as of November 1, 2011. He will continue as a Director and serve on the Executive Committee.
According to Bob, "working with Virginie and the Board in building FACC's success has been a pleasure as well as a challenge. I am lucky that, in retirement, I discovered this opportunity to serve our community of individual and corporate members interested in French-American bi-lateral business opportunities. I am happy that I will be able to continue to be involved as a Director. Under Omar Soubra's leadership, I am confident that FACC will grow to new heights."
The FACC is pleased to announce that Omar Soubra has been elected as the new president. Omar, a French native, has been developing a team of professional marketers in different parts of the world. He has been with Trimble Navigation, the leader in positioning solutions, for over 13 years, in various roles, from European Sales manager, to Portfolio/Market Manager. In addition to his marketing communications responsibilities, Omar is an innovator at heart and holds several patents that have been developed and used in current products and solutions. Omar has been living in Colorado since January 2005.

Message from Our New President
Instead of a long address about my election, my focus and my energy are devoted to the heart of the Rocky Mountain French-American Chamber of Commerce success: concrete actions, based on a clear mission.
The clear mission of the Chamber is to promote and develop commercial exchange, trade and investment between France and the Rocky Mountain region. As concrete action, the CORA program, established by my predecessor, Bob Snyder and his team, with the Rhone-Alpes region in France helps us focus our effort and development with strong partners on both sides of the Atlantic, with regions that have synergies in business, education, research and way-of-life. We, of course, do not discriminate our support to Colorado-based companies who want to establish operations in France outside of Rhone-Alpes and this doesn't mean we don't provide the same support to a French company coming to our wonderful Colorado for its US operations. CORA means that, with a clear mission in mind, and our carefully managed resources, which depend on our memberships and fundraising events, we are taking concrete steps to fulfill the mission. Our concrete actions expand beyond CORA, and I invite you to talk to the Board members, to our Executive Director or to me about the partnerships, promotion, and support we are already providing.
One of the primary sources of information to our members and friends is this newsletter. Read carefully each edition as you will see these concrete actions on a regular basis. This may even provide you with some insight on new business opportunities or development ideas for your company. With your commitment and support as members, the FACC team and the engagement of our Board members, I am excited to continue this mission and to strengthen the successes the FACC has created. I look forward to meeting you at the Beaujolais & Beyond Festival, on November 17th.
A très vite !
