The Euro: Managing Currency Rate Changes in Troubled Times
October 14 at 12:00 noon
The German-American Chamber of Commerce (GACC) is pleased to announce the return of our networking luncheons. We anticipate having quarterly luncheons featuring speakers on international business topics.
Foreign currency has received a lot of news coverage recently. While Greece and Spain are struggling with budget deficit crises, Germany's economy is growing. China's Yuan is appreciating and their trade surplus is also growing. And, there is confusion about the future role of the US dollar in foreign exchange. The resulting uncertainties have plagued Greece's and other European markets despite the joint IMF-EU plan,
as many fear austerity programs will not succeed and the adverse effects on growth in the EU could be dramatic.

Speaker: Charles Williams, Managing Director Wealth Management and Foreign Exchange Director at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, LLC
Location: Avenue Grill, 630 E. 17th Avenue, Denver, 80203
Cost: $25-$30
RSVP: reservations@GACCO-CO.org

Colorado Innovation Investment Tax Credit:
Implemented by the CO Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT)
HB 09-1105 created the Colorado Innovation Investment Tax Credit (CIITC).  CIITC provides an income tax credit (against Colorado income taxes) for investing entities that make investments during calendar year 2010 in small, innovative Colorado companies that are involved in research and development or manufacturing of new technologies, processes, and/or products.  Note that the investing entity cannot be a C Corporation.

The tax credit is equal to 15% of the investment up to a maximum tax credit of $20,000 for investments in any one business. The $20,000 credit is limited to each investor for each small business. (In no event can an individual/investing entity receive more than $20,000 worth of tax credits for investments made in the same business.) The maximum tax credit amount for the entire program for the 2010 tax year is $750,000.

As of August 26, 2010, approximately $450,000
remain available for this tax credit program.
