Conference Speaker:
Ken Smith

"Selling In Today's Recovery...The Rules Have Changed"

Ken Smith

Do you feel that your sales and client development process is not as effective in today's marketplace? Are you finding that there's now more downward pressure on your fees? Are you frustrated by getting drawn into your prospects' endless "stalls?"  And are you not getting the referrals from your clients that you believe you deserve?

If any of this sounds familiar, then join us to hear Ken Smith present the new approaches for professional selling and client development. Ken's presentation will address the following:

  • Why conventional sales approaches for professional services are no longer as effective
  • Why traditional client development efforts often turn you into an "unpaid consultant"
  • How to deal with the "think-it-over's" and the "maybe's" that never turn into clients
  • Strategies for quickly qualifying prospects by helping them discover why they should or should not do business with you
  • What self-limiting beliefs and outlooks can keep you from achieving the business success you deserve

Ken will also present a systematic sales process that is repeatable and predictable for developing new clients and leveraging relationships to generate more referrals.

Ken Smith is recognized nationally as a sales development expert, specializing in executive sales consulting and sales productivity training. He is an award winning trainer and author, and is an authentic, enthusiastic speaker who can inform as well as entertain and motivate business owners and sales professionals.

Ken is a managing director for Sandler Training, a global training and business development consulting organization. He and his associates work with individuals and growing companies who are committed to achieving high levels of performance. Ken is committed to helping his clients recognize the success they deserve by providing them with the training, support and on-going coaching that is necessary to help them achieve their highest potential.

Conference Speakers:
Kim Winblood and Kathy Dupuy
"How to Add and Make the Most of This Revenue Source"
Kathy Dupuy

Kim and Kathy will present a breakout session that will cover a framework for adding special events to your services - from collateral, to supplies, to training and logistics. They will also cover time constraints, on-site coordination, flexibility (including payments), and getting repeat business.

Kathy Dupuy founded Mom's Best Friend in 1994, and has successfully guided the company's expansion by setting up offices in Houston and San Antonio, and franchising to Dallas/Ft. Worth and Vail/Beaver Creek, Colorado. Mom's Best Friend / MBF Agency is a full service agency placing nannies, babysitters, household staff, and senior care. Prior to launching Mom's Best Friend, Kathy received her Bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University. Kathy is currently an APNA board member, and she maintains regular hours in the Austin office while simultaneously raising a family of four children with her husband, Stuart.

Kim Winblood

Kim Winblood is vice president and chief operating officer at Dallas/Fort Worth Mom's Best Friend. Kim received her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and then went on to achieve her master's degree at Dallas Theological Seminary. Before purchasing Mom's Best Friend Dallas/Ft. Worth in 2000, Kim was a household manager and subsequently a teacher in the Dallas area for seven years where she taught health and coached soccer. Her husband Jim is President and CEO of the Mom's Best Friend Dallas/Ft. Worth offices and they have two beautiful daughters.
