  • Michigan's Children Launches Facebook Page: Become a Fan!

Voices for Michigan's Children has recently launched a fan page on global social networking site, Facebook.

The Michigan's Children Facebook Page will be frequently updated with info on current affairs and upcoming events, as well as photos and video taken at youth forums, legislative events and Michigan's Children fundraisers.

Fans of the Michigan's Children Facebook Page also will be able to provide feedback to Michigan's Children and comment on postings.

Anyone who is a member of Facebook can join the Michigan's Children Facebook Page as a "fan." Those who are not Facebook members still can view the page but cannot interact with it.

Come and join the Michigan's Children Facebook Page and help us spread the word to make Michigan a place where ALL children thrive!

    New Video on Facebook

Check out the Michigan's Children Facebook Page for new video taken at the April 6 Youth Voices Changing Public Policy forum at Lansing Community College.

The forum featured six youths speaking about their struggles to graduate high school and how they were able to earn their diplomas with the help of the High School Diploma Completion Initiative, a program of LCC and the Ingham Intermediate School District.

These young people shared some very emotional yet uplifting stories of success. Michigan's Children thanks them for participating and for helping, through their stories, to show policymakers a program that is worth funding and duplicating in other communities.

Michigan's Children also thanks our partners in this event: Lansing Community College, Community Coalition for Youth, Ingham County Youth Commission, MSU Office of University Outreach and Engagement, MSU Extension, One Love Global, Inc., and Peckham. And we especially thank the C.S. Mott Foundation for funding this project to build public support for creating state and local policy and practices that improve educational opportunities for young people.
