  • Take Action to Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect!

As the incidence of child abuse and neglect continues to rise in Michigan, state funding for prevention programs has been declining. Advocates for children are encouraged to ask Governor Granholm and their state legislators to make child abuse and neglect prevention a priority in the fiscal year 2009- 2010 budget.

Tell Your Senators to Support the Economic Recovery Package

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Bill of 2009 (S.1) makes good economic sense for families and children in Michigan. But we must act now to urge senators to support the economic recovery package and oppose harmful amendments that may jeopardize this bill. Voices for America's Children has issued an Action Alert calling on children's advocates to contact senators and urge their support of S.1. Read the Action Alert, analysis of the House and Senate packages, including a side-by-side comparison and state-by-state estimates, and download key talking points in support of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Bill of 2009 (H.R 1/S.1), by clicking here.
