Greetings!
We Sold The Film!
Or, to put it another way, a distribution company called Entertainment 7 has acquired the worldwide rights to The Enemy God. This is a huge milestone in the process. They will now invest their expertise and effort to license the film for home video, theatrical, television, and Internet distribution in the U.S. and in other territories around the world. It means that we won't have to carry the entire burden to see the film reach a wide audience. We will continue to work to make the film known and to support distribution to special audiences like other indigenous groups. However, we will be handing off much of the day-to-day load to Entertainment 7. Amazing as it seems, it has been 6-1/2 years since we first sat with Bautista Cajicuwa and his community to hear of their desire to tell their story in a film!
We will keep you posted here and on our web pages as we schedule places where the film will screen. At present, we are working on some college screenings and a few festivals that have invited us. I was just in Oregon where I screened the film at a university and a church. I also spoke at workshops to give more insights into the filmmaking process and the Yanomamö story. I will try to write more about that in a future e-mail.
Just a reminder, you can click here to go to our web store to order your own DVD of the film. And, be sure to join our Behind The Enemy God on-line community to ask questions, meet cast and crew, and hear inside stories about the film.
Thank you for your help in giving the Yanomamö a voice!
Yours, Tom Khazoyan Producer, Yai Wanonabälewä: The Enemy God ____________________________________________________________
