Happy Thanksgiving,

An Audience On A Train

As I was traveling by train between Italy and Switzerland recently, I talked with an Italian woman who had been in many countries. She would describe herself as a spiritual person, though she would not claim any traditional religion for her own. She was fascinated as I described our film. She had been with indigenous people in Mexico and appreciated their culture. If I could have shown her The Enemy God right there, she would have been thrilled to see it.

This experience, and many more like it, tells me that there is a great interest in the Yanomamö's story and that their story of God's movement among them will touch many people. That awareness keeps us going as we are working through the hurdles to get the film out to the world. We hope that encourages you too.

The Latest News From Europe

As we have been working on more screenings here in North America, we have also been looking across the Pond at opportunities in Europe. While Europeans always enjoy Hollywood blockbusters, filmgoers' tastes are more broad than that. The Yanomamö story told in The Enemy God appeals to European interest in exotic cultures and spirituality. So we were excited to be invited to the Sabaoth Int'l Film Festival in Milan, Italy.

Our screening (with both Italian and English subtitles) met with an enthusiastic response. Audience members were fascinated by the story and I had many great conversations after the screening.

I also spent a good deal of time networking with other filmmakers and people who are interested in getting The Enemy God distributed in Europe. One of our tasks is to work on multiple-language versions for a European DVD release. Some of these translations will be done by partners in Europe but we have a lot of technical work to do on a European format DVD and a lot of follow-up to nurture these new relationships. Every country and language has different needs and opportunities.

We hope you are encouraged by these open doors.

Yours,
