"Best Feature" Award Nomination

The Enemy God was just nominated for "Best Feature Film" by the Arpa International Film Festival, to be held at the historic Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, October 24-26, 2008. We are honored to be a part of this festival. Here's what this festival is all about:

"Since 1997, Arpa International Film Festival has been dedicated to cultivating cultural understanding and global empathy, aiming to create a dynamic forum for international cinema with a special focus on the work of filmmakers who explore the issues of diaspora, exile and multi-culturalism. The festival also celebrates the ideals of independent thought, artistic vision, cultural diversity and social understanding."

Foreign-languages and Study Guides

The film is going worldwide very soon! We have language translations underway for Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian subtitled versions. We also have a lot of interest in other language versions for viewers that are primarily oral in their communication. This means creating dubbed versions through partnerships with other organizations who will produce the translation and audio recording. We are working on a K'ekchi' version with partners in Guatemala right now.

As we are working to ensure the film receives a wide audience, we are also working on resources to help viewers dig deeper into the story and the world of the Yanomamö. This includes creating a curriculum that will be used by groups who want to watch the film and then learn more about the spiritual and human rights issues that affect indigenous people like the Yanomamö. If you are interested in helping us develop these study guides, let us know.

Thanks for your prayers and support.

Yours,
