Greetings ,

As excited as we are about progress on the film, the "real" world confronts us with much larger issues that touch our hearts. Following now on news of the conditions in Venezuela, we have something to add to our prayers.

Hurricane Felix rapidly strengthened into a dangerous Category 5 storm over the past few days and churned toward Central America, where forecasters said it would arrive as a "potentially catastrophic" storm. It hit Nicaragua's coastline this morning and reports are that it is causing a lot of damage to the communities there. Forecasters now say that the storm could continue toward Belize on Wednesday, where many residents are still cleaning up from last month's Hurricane Dean.

As you know, the small town (Pop. 3,500) of Punta Gorda, Belize is the location where Yai Wanonabälewä: The Enemy God film was shot and where producer Matt Castagna lived for 10 years. Through these experiences the people of the Toledo District have become dear to our hearts. The film's K'ekchi' actors all came from this area of the country and are facing the potential loss of their crops, houses and livelihood. Friends in Belize have been e-mailing us and asking for your prayers for everyone in the region. We encourage you to join them in prayer.
