Greetings!

Just a quick one today. We are on what should be our last full day of filming! What an answer to your prayers, that we have come this far, through many challenges.

Yesterday was a big day. It's not often that you get to light a shabano on fire. Read below for a bit more on that item. It was spectacular.

Sometimes it seems as though the final days of a project like this should feel like they are coasting. However, we are still hard at it, tired, and pushing to make these last scenes as compelling as the first ones. The crew will step up today and tomorrow but please remember them, and our actors, as they work toward a "wrap".

Thank you for joining with us,

Tom Khazoyan –– Executive Producer, The Enemy God (Yai Wana Naba Laywa) film

Final Push

Baustisa and Shake As I mentioned, we staged one of the most complex scenes of the film yesterday - the burning of Red Blood Village. There was no dialogue. It lasted about 5 minutes in total. But it took a lot of expert preparation by our crew, coordination with the local fire authorities, and some very trusting actors.

The scene shows the aftermath of one of the early raids on a rival village - an actual historical event that Bautista remembers because he was there. The victorious warriors leave the rival village in flames as they take a few remaining women and children captive into the jungle. It is part of a compelling, tragic sequence of events in the story.

This photo shows a bit of what the fire looked like from one of our cameramen's perspective. But you can't adequately describe the heat at that spot. The actors' only task was to hurry past the burning shabano and go off into the jungle. They were happy to oblige, in only one take!

Rio Blanco Falls
? Please pray for health, stamina, and good grace among our crew and actors. The days are not getting any easier and fatigue can cause mistakes and misunderstandings with each other.

? Pray for safety for the film and that there will be no technical problems. We are leaving at the end of this week but we have yet to see all of the footage back from the lab to make sure there are no problems. It will be a real challenge if we discover that something went wrong, after we are gone home. We don't anticipate any problems, but we are going by faith right now.
