Greetings! As I mentioned in yesterday's e-mail, there have been great things happening to bring us closer to the day when the story of the Yanomamö comes to a theater near you. We assume we will always meet challenges, but God has been a good and faithful provider. I hope you are encouraged by the progress you will read about in this newsletter. Thank you for joining with us, Tom Khazoyan –– Executive Producer, The Enemy God (Yai Wana Naba Laywa) film [Note: If this is the first time you have received this update, you can read all of our past reports on our web site, www.TheEnemyGod.com under the "News" section.] |

Excitement in Belize ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As you can see from the photos, a new Yanomamö
village is rising in the jungle outside Punta Gorda,
Belize. Despite some delays due to torrential rain,
they are making great progress. This set will
represent the more modern village in our film,
called "Thriving Village" in the script. It is the
place where the people have embraced the new ways of
following Yai Wana Naba Laywa, the Great Creator
Spirit who they used to fear. Now they know that
this God sent his Son to become Yanomamö and cut a
path through the jungle to bring them freedom.
Along with this modern village, a more traditional shabano structure is being consructed nearby to serve as a set for the parts of the film that take place in the 1950's-60's, before the Yanomamö had much contact with the outside world. These sets are being built by our Kekchi indian partners who know traditional construction techniques and materials. It is a blessing to have these skilled craftsmen who can do what no North American set builder could do.

Other Production News ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In early October we gathered key crew members in
Toronto to look at film tests and discuss the
casting and production schedule. In the photo at
right our Director of Photography, John Petrella
(sitting, front) is working with our film colorist,
myself, and Christopher Bessette, the Director, to
develop the right visual "look"
for different portions of the film.
We also looked through many hours of videotape and hundreds of photographs and notes to pick our principal Kekchi actors for the film. We were very encouraged to see their interest in the project and to see the sparks of talent that God has placed in many of these new friends. Finally, we were happy to send off two production vehicles, loaded with film equipment, office supplies, and other materials, on the road and boat to Belize. They will set sail next week and we plan to pick them up in Belize when we are there in early December. There are still many unique logistical challenges to making a motion picture in a developing country, but we are very encouraged by how things are coming together.

Prayer Requests ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
? Please continue to pray for passports for our
Yanomamö advisors. Venezuela is set to have national
elections on December 3rd, so everything is stalled.
It was stalled before then, but now it's really
stalled! Our last shot will be to send the
individuals to Caracas after the election to hound
the officials in-person with the hope and
expectation that God will break the log-jam and make
a way for Bautista and others to be with us in
Belize for the filming in January. BIG PRAYER NEED!
? A foundation is considering a gift to the film project at the end of this month. Please pray for favor with the Hendrickson Foundation as they consider many worthy projects. While we have sufficient funds to carry us through production on the film, another gift would help greatly with future steps for the project. ? Please pray for our upcoming trip to Belize, December 5-13. The main purpose of the trip is to hold our first Actors' School for everyone we have chosen for principal roles in the film. It is difficult to communicate with folks who live in remote villages, so a key thing to pray for is our ability to connect with everyone again. We can't just call them on the phone. We want to be able to spend time with them, give them good experience with acting, and set the stage for our filming in January.
