Greetings! We are saying, "It's a wrap." to summer. And it has been a busy one. I want to begin with a bit of encouragement from the Yanomamö. They are still very cut off from "civilization" because of the remoteness of their lands and the Venezuelan government's restrictions on access. However, we did receive word this week that another Bible Seminar is being held in Cosh village in the next week or so. These seminars have had great impact on the people. Many come from far off villages to learn. Many come who are just curious about the transformation they have seen in relatives who were once cruel, abusive, and proud. The fact that Yanomamö are experiencing radical change and freedom when they "hang their hammock" on Jesus is having a major impact. This is God's power at work, today, in the lives of real people who are about as different from most of us as you can imagine. We are privileged to help to tell such stories to the world. Thank you for joining with us, Tom Khazoyan –– Executive Producer, The Enemy God (Yai Wana Naba Laywa) film [Note: If this is the first time you have received this update, you can read all of our past reports on our web site, www.TheEnemyGod.com under the "News" section.] |

We Like The Climate ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A breath of fresh, salt air. That's how we are
feeling right now about Belize. We have been
corresponding with the Film Commissioner of Belize,
Mr. Emory King (pictured here with Tom) to define
arrangements for things like customs duties, taxes,
work permits, etc. All we can say is, it's
definitely not Venezuela!
Permissons have been granted and meetings are being arranged with government officials who want to help make this film a reality. It is truly a pleasure to work with folks who share our desire to help their indigenous citizens and work with integrity. We may still hit a few bumps on the way but we are encouraged by the favor we have been shown.

Greenlight ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With the government pieces coming into place, we are
able to move forward with an eye on a January start
for filming. This is a huge answer to your prayers.
Next up for us is another trip to Belize in September. Matt Castagna, our Producer, will be leaving on September 7th to begin the casting process for Kekchi actors. Matt and our casting assistant will be traveling to all of the small villages in the Toledo District around Punta Gorda to get the word out that we are looking for indigenous actors to help the Yanomamö tell their story. Over the course of the following couple of weeks, Christopher Bessette, the Director, and myself will be interviewing, coaching, and videotaping what we hope are hundreds of applicants. There are approximately 75 roles to fill, with about a dozen key speaking parts. During the same trip, we will be kicking off set construction. There will be one large traditional shabano village (like the one pictured here) and one, more modern village built. Additionally, we will have a few other sets that serve as other locations in the film. Back at home in the U.S., we are very busy arranging for equipment, crew, and other matters. For instance, we are now the proud owners of a 15-passenger, diesel-powered, van. This van will be shipped, full of gear, to Belize. It will provide crew and actor transportation while we are in production. There just aren't dependable vehicles like this available in Belize, so we have to bring our own! We were blessed to find a great deal on one that fits our needs.

Prayer Requests ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
? Please pray that we will be able to obtain
passports for our key Yanomamö actors and advisors
so that they can come to Belize. The process is not
proven and the Venezuelan government does not seem
interested in making things simple for their
indigenous citizens.
? Pray for successful casting sessions mid-September. We need to find actors for every role from among the Kekchi and Maya communities in Belize. Of course, there are not many experienced actors there. However, we believe God has prepared some for this project. ? Pray for our set construction. This project will give many Belizeans an opportunity to build in traditional style and will give them a part in the making of this film. Pray for Larry Smith, our Location Manager, as he supervises the construction of Yanomamö villages in Punta Gorda.
