Greetings!

Praise the Lord for quiet in the jungle! Thank you for your many prayers during the recent crisis in Cosh. The power of the gospel of peace was very evident. Why do we so often doubt?

I have changed formats with this newsletter, hoping to avoid some technical issues that some of you experienced with the last few. I also want to continue to give prayer updates as needed from Cosh, but want to give more information about where the film project is heading now. There is plenty to tell, and we are very encouraged.

Thank you for joining with us,

Tom Khazoyan –– Executive Producer, The Enemy God film

Things Are Quiet In The Jungle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yanomamö family in the shabano The only news we have heard from Venezuela is that things seem to be going well! They are preparing for another Bible seminar in the village. These seminars are hosted in the village of Cosh and are taught primarily by Yanomamö leaders. Many people come from villages scattered across Amazonas to be trained to take the gospel to their home areas. Last, month, when "Hot" a shaman from up the river gave up his spirits and accepted Christ as his savior, he had come to one of these seminars.
The missionaries feel that the success of these seminars is one of the main reasons for the persecution they have been experiencing. Every time they are held, people are coming to faith and experiencing freedom in Christ. As the gospel moves out, through native evangelists, things are changing and the old ways are being challenged.
Film Project News
Tom discussing the film While we are grateful for the fact that Mision Padamo is still able to work in Cosh, we are not holding our breath that the film could still be made anywhere in Venzuela under the current government. We have some very encouraging leads for alternate locations and are arranging for location scouting trips to several South and Central American countries in the next month or so. The location change definitely alters our approach to the film. However, it also opens up new opportunities because we will have a more accessible location and better conditions that will aid the filmmaking process. We are excited by the conversations we are having with contacts in other countries who are eager to partner with us, both tribal groups and other organizations.
I have just returned from a conference in Orlando that was focused on empowering indigeous leaders and churches to reach the remaining unreached tribal groups in the Amazon region. It was probably the most exciting conference I have been to in a long time. Many organizations with long histories of service to tribes in the Amazon were represented, and they are committed to working together in ways that we have never seen before. Tribal leaders from Brazil and Peru came to share their vision for their own peoples and countries. Our posture is one of service and partnership with these leaders - to do what we can from an outsiders' perspective to see Christ's church built and lives changed.
This consortium of organizations will be one of the key audiences and end-users of The Enemy God film. The film will be used in North America to help raise awareness of the needs and opportunities in the Amazon. Additionally, the film will be translated into other languages (Spanish, Portugese, tribal languages) for use as an evangelistic tool that will speak to the tribal people groups in a very clear and culturally relevant way.
Praises and Prayer Requests
Praise the Lord for his grace and power in preserving peace last week in Cosh village. Praise Him for allowing the Bible seminars to continue despite the government policies. We are also thanking the Lord for very a fruitful conference with other like-minded organizations.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Venezuela. Pray for the Bible seminars that are training evangelists and disciples in the Yanomamö Church thorughout the jungle. Pray for safety and favor under the new government policies. Please pray for us as we are scouting new locations for the film production. We have had several very encouraging conversations with potential partner organizations and with tribal leaders in other countries. We will be making a trip to look at options very soon.
