| Greetings!,
Adolescent Counseling Services' clinical staff are some of the best in the business. In this issue, you'll meet two of the newest members of our clinical team: Sabrina and Charlotte. While you will get to know a little more about them, I want to take this opportunity to highlight the important work being done by ALL of our clinical staff members. From Program Directors to On-Campus Counseling Site Directors, this group of licensed marriage and family therapists, social workers, and psychologists bring the professional expertise our clients deserve. They provide valuable supervision and training to future therapists - our clinical interns. They work carefully with these interns to make sure ACS is providing the best possible care to local teens and families. We are lucky to have them and are proud that they represent ACS throughout the community. You can learn more about them by reading their bios on our website.
Lastly, I want to thank the Sobrato Family Foundation for their 2:1 Challenge Grant. New, increased, and lapsed gifts received by December 31, 2012 will be matched - times two - up to $71,750. I hope you will help us meet this challenge today by making a gift and helping teenagers find their way.
Sincerely, Dr. Philippe Rey Executive Director |

Teen Talk Blog Series: The Importance of Sharing a Family Meal
By : Philippe Rey, Psy.D. ACS Executive Director In my tenure as Executive Director of ACS, most of you over the years have heard me emphasize the idea of sitting down and sharing a family meal together at the communal table. With our busy lives in Silicon Valley making us run around on our quest to be better and to work harder, we have sometimes lost the appreciation for the basics. One of the most basic things we have forgotten in our daily lives is the importance of sharing a meal as a family unit. My parents, both of whom were busy managing a hotel and two restaurants, made having dinner together as a family a requirement. I clearly remember hating to have to come home and sit for dinner with them every evening when I was a teen. I remember resenting it because it took time away from hanging out with my friends and, at times, from studying for exams....
Adolescent Counseling Services is proud to support the 2012 Bay Area Tasting Week.
