| Greetings!,
The month of June marks the end of ACS's fiscal year 2011-2012, and what a year it has been. Each month has seen new opportunities to partner with other local organizations that serve youth in the counties of Santa Clara and San Mateo. As in years past, ACS has seen an increased need among our constituency for easily accessible, affordable and quality counseling services.
ACS is grateful for the generous and continued support we have received from donors and friends that share our values and commitment to teens. There is one family in particular that ACS would like to thank and recognize this month. In appreciation of a moving theatrical event performed by Talia Steinberg, the Steinberg/Erber family invited the audience to help raise funds to support ACS in loving memory of their son and brother, Jacob Steinberg. Through the generosity of many, ACS received over $7,000 in donations. We at ACS are blessed to be the recipient of such generosity.
Looking forward to our new fiscal year, ACS has already begun planning for Spring Sounds 2013. We invite you to save the date of Saturday, May 18, 2013, as the day of next year's Spring Sounds. A theme has already emerged! One of my philosophies in life is the importance of sharing a meal together; whether it be with family, friends, neighbors, or strangers. With this in mind, I invite you to join me in breaking bread together as we celebrate life and this amazing organization. Breaking bread is a group process and we at ACS could not do what we do without your continued and generous support. Thank you and I hope to wish you "Bon Appetit" on May 18, 2013!
Sincerely,
Dr. Philippe Rey
Executive Director

A Sister's Tribute to Her Brother "I'm Sorry For My Loss"
On a sunny Sunday afternoon in May friends, family and community members gathered to watch an amazing performance by Palo Alto native Talia Steinberg at the Palo Alto Children's Theater. Talia's one-woman show, "I'm Sorry For My Loss" is a tribute to the loss her family suffered in 2003 when they lost their brother and son Jacob Steinberg. With humor and grace Talia had the audience laughing and crying at the same time.
Before the performance began the Steinberg/Erber family asked audience members to donate to ACS in memory of Jacob, and allowed On-Campus Counseling Program Director Roni Gillenson, LMFT to share a couple of words about the organization.
After the program ended audience members flooded the lobby of the theatre and generously began donating. Donations continued to come in the weeks following the event. The Steinberg/Erber family have been touched by the amount that friends and family helped to raise for ACS in memory of Jacob, which at final count is well over $7,000. ACS has been touched as well by the incredible gift that this family has given, which will help us continue to provide easily accessible, affordable and quality counseling services to the adolescents and families in our community.
