To quote Heidi Hagstrom, Director of the ELCA Youth Gathering, "The Youth Gathering is over, but as the adult leader you still have work to do. In fact, this might be the
most important work you do . . . To ensure that the ELCA Youth Gathering is a faith-formative, faith-informing experience for young people, it is critically important that the mountain-top experience be integrated into the daily lives of young people, as well as the life of your congregation."

This eNews includes information and opportunities for continuing to Practice Discipleship and build connections with your youth and with one another in our own RMS community.

Read the important details about our two upcoming RMS Gatherings. We hope to see you and your youth there!

Thank you to each and everyone of you who walks along side our youth and their families. I don't think there is anything more rewarding or that gives me more hope in the future and mission of our church than the awesome, gifted youth in our midst and you, the adults who walk along side them.

Blessings to you this day, at home and away,

LindaLinda Staats

The following resources were assembled by the ELCA Youth Gathering Team to help us do the important work of connecting the experience of the Gathering, our life together in our synod, daily life in our congregations with a meaningful faith life.
Service Projects
In the June 2012 issue of "The Lutheran magazine," the traditional "mission trip" was reframed as an opportunity to engage in reflection and partnership. Click here to go to the ELCA Youth Gathering page and the link to the article and accompanying study guide which features our own RMS congregations, youth and caring adults.

The Book of Faith Initiative invited service-learning guru Gene Roelkepartain to riff on faith formation and service with Dr. Mark Jackson and Dr. Dave Ellingson of Trinity Lutheran College. Narrated by Linda Staats, they made the video of the conversation available for FREE! Click here to check it out.

Why just watch Gene Roelkepartain's interview when you can get the full six-sessions, "Service and Learning" featuring six teachers who have practiced accompaniment in their own ministries? It is available from Select Resources via streaming for $29.95, or you can have the entire DVD set mailed to you for only $39.95.
The SALLT (Service and Learning Leadership Team) Project is giving away all of their service and learning resources for FREE. The story includes a preview of a mobile app that will soon be released, and can be used during your home Practice Justice experiences. Visit their store and website by  clicking here.
