Greetings!
|
Bishop Jim Gonia's new blog post:
"How are things going?"
Beloved in Christ in the Rocky Mountain Synod,
Many people have asked how things are going in this new call. It's going well, thank you very much! It certainly hasn't been dull. During these first fourteen days I've spent time getting organized and tending to transitional matters. I've met in person or by phone with office staff members, a variety of rostered leaders, and a few mission partners. I've discussed upcoming installations (including my own), learned about existing situations, visited the Border Conference and the Wyoming Conference, preached in three congregations, enjoyed a church anniversary in Casper, and celebrated the ministry of departing Border Servant Corp volunteers in El Paso. I've also experienced my first Candidacy Committee meeting.
Now that I'm two weeks into it, here are a few reflections-one for each day.
- It's going to take some time to realize that when someone says "Bishop!" they're talking to me.

RAINBOW TRAIL LUTHERAN CAMP
|
RTLC has opportunity to purchase their forest site!
Your help is vital!
Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp has the opportunity of a lifetime! The camp is on leased Federal land and has been since its inception. They now have the opportunity to purchase non-federal land that the forest service wants and then exchange it with the forest service to own their site!
But there is a catch. They will need to raise approximately $350,000 by December 7, 2012 to secure this non-federal land. So they need your help. Already, over $120,000 has been raised but they need your help to keep the momentum going to reach their goal.

Over $2500 was raised! The amount included a 25% match from Thrivent financial Services.
