ELCA MALARIA CAMPAIGN in OUR SYNOD
|
Our Youth are Leading the Way in the ELCA Malaria Campaign
Atonement Lutheran Church in Boulder, CO, has been raising awareness and funds for the ELCA Malaria Campaign. They see this campaign as a connecting point for them with the ELCA tagline, "God's Work. Our Hands." The primary fundraisers in the congregation have been the Sunday School students at Atonement. They have also received a matching grant of $500 from a member of the congregation.
The students' goal is to purchase one net for each student in the Sunday School or approximately 50 nets by April when they will lead a worship service and invite the congregation to join them in the Malaria Campaign cause. For each $10 raised for a mosquito net they add a paper "person" they have made for their Malaria Campaign wall.
Rocky Mountain Synod congregations, individuals and organizations have given $105,746.97 to the ELCA Malaria Campaign so far! Thanks to your generosity we are over halfway to our goal of $200,000. To find resources about the ELCA Malaria Campaign for your congregation please check out our website at www.rmselca.org/malaria.
