Prayers of thanksgiving for Rainbow Trail Camp and the firefighters who saved it The map of the fire that surrounded Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp is testament to the countless firefighters who were so dedicated to saving it. The camp site is still evacuated, with camp taking place at an alternate site. Bishop Allan Bjornberg and Pastor Dan Bollman will be visiting Rainbow Trail on Thursday to offer prayers of thanksgiving firsthand.

|  The Rocky Mountain Synod Congratulates Its YAGM Program Participants Fifty young adults have been selected to participate in the ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) program in Argentina/Uruguay, Jerusalem/West Bank, Malaysia, Mexico, southern Africa, and the United Kingdom. Beginning in August 2011, they will serve for one year in a church, school or social service ministry. These young adults will continue to have a powerful, inspiring story to tell. You may wish to request their newsletter, e-letter, or blog and distribute their stories widely. Inter-faith and Community-Wide World Refugee Day of Prayer
LSS of Utah is having World Refugee Day of Prayer, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 beginning at high noon and everyone is invited. The day will offer a time for prayers, reflections, thoughts, and poems. This ecumenical event will include Buddhists, Christians, members of the Bah'ai faith, Hindus, Muslims, and the community at large. Harmony by Afghani Refugee Children Royal Heritage Ensemble will provide musical entertainment and the food is the Around-the-World Potluck. The World Refugee Day of Prayer will take place at the Lutheran Social Service of Utah office located at 4392 South 900 East, Salt Lake City (84124). You will find parking adjacent to and on the right side of the building. Please remember to bring: sunscreen, a water bottle, hat or shade, coins for the offering to refugee ministries, and a potluck dish! 'Day 1' to Add Albuquerque Radio Station to Affiliate Network
Popular weekly program is the voice of the mainline Christian churches
"Day 1," the national weekly radio program that showcases outstanding mainline Protestant preachers, is adding 17 key markets to its affiliate network beginning July 10, 211. The program, produced and hosted by Peter Wallace, will now distributed on KXKS 1190, Albuquerque, N.M. on Sundays at 5:30 p.m.
"We are honored to expand our radio outreach to these new markets because we believe deeply in the message of the mainline churches," said Peter Wallace, executive producer and host. Now in its 66th year of weekly broadcast, "Day 1" (formerly called "The Protestant Hour") is produced by the Alliance for Christian Media, an independent non-profit based in Atlanta. The program exists through financial contributions from individuals and churches.

The Young Swedish Singers 2011 Tour Young Swedish Singers, a 34-member gospel singing group from H�ssleholm, Sk�ne, Sweden, will appear in concert at Evergreen Lutheran Church on Wednesday, June 22 at 7:00 p.m. The group's tour includes stops in Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Iowa, June 14-July 5, 2011. This youth choir, founded by director Birgitta Rosland in 1991, comes from a very musical Lutheran church in the far south of Sweden. Choir members range in age from teenagers to young adults in their early 20's. Youth and the young at heart will be impressed with the incredible quality of the choir's voices and music. This is their fourth U.S. tour in ten years. The Young Swedish Singers concerts, sung mostly in English, will include gospel, hymns, and Swedish folk music.The choir will be hosted by approximately 300 families during their 2 �-week tour. They will sing for two Scandinavian festivals-one at the Midsummer Festival in Lindsborg, Kansas and the other at the Scandinavian Festival in Estes Park, Colorado. They will spend two nights at the famous YMCA Camp of the Rockies in Estes Park. Choir members have raised funds to cover not only their airfare to the U.S., but their bus transportation for their entire tour. All offering and CD income received during the tour will benefit Shepherd's Canyon Retreat, a non-profit ministry providing counseling retreats for clergy and their spouses.
 Leap Ahead Into Middle School Using theater, movement, poetry and improvisation to build confidence and character, students moving into middle school will engage and explore individual paths to leadership. Four, 2-hour sessions for students: July 5, 7, 12, and 14 from 4:00 to 6 p.m.
Cost is $175 Location: Wellshire Presbyterian Church, 2990 South Colorado Blvd, Denver.

Zion-Montrose 1st YOUTH Habitat for Humanity Build and Christian Concerts
Zion Lutheran Church of Montrose will have its first Humanity Build and Christian Concert event on from July 6 -9 2011. The build will take place on July 6 and 7 and the concerts will be performed on July 8 and 9 and will feature Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, Superchick, and many others. Hymn Society of the U.S. and Canada Annual Conference in Colorado Springs
The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada will hold its annual conference in Colorado Springs, CO from July 17-21, 2011. Our theme is "Touch the Earth Lightly," which will focus on our responsibility to care for God's creation.  A Call To Action - Providing Hunger Relief for Metro Denver The congregation of Bethany Lutheran Church in Cherry Hills Village is asking the community to join it in providing hunger relief. Metro CareRing is challenging people in the Denver area to join Avenues of Hope: 9.10.11. Please take just a few minutes to watch the video from Metro CareRing. Avenues of Hope: Hunger Stops Here (9.10.11) is a community movement to eradicate hunger by educating, motivating and encouraging everyone to give! Please check out the website to see how you might be able to Help. Thank you for being a hunger relief advocate for the hungry here in Denver! The goal for faith communities in the metro-Denver area is to collectively raise $120,000 on or before September 10, 2011 (9.10.11) and to collect 120,000 lbs. of food. There are a number of ways to participate: - Pledge to do "a dollar per day" or a "pound per day" or BOTH
- Promise to gather "a pound of food each day" for 100 days
- Share ideas that you have; and
- Pray, so collectively we end hunger in our community.
Stay tuned for news and events about where and how to give your "dollar per day" and where to bring your offerings of food., so that enough food for all hungry people in Denver can be collected. Money to sustain the hungry of Colorado will also be gathered. Be a part of it!

Shadow and Light: A Time of Remembrance and Hope 10th Anniversary of 9-11 A series of interfaith events are being planned in Denver for the weekend of 9-11 including workshops, dialogues, cultural exchanges and a community-wide interfaith worship service on Sunday evening. These events will center on the Shadow and Light theme emphasizing a faith-filled perspective on a time of remembrance of those who perished and the hope of human beings living together in peace and giving witness to the value of each child of God.
