Greetings! |
Fire crosses perimeter of Rainbow Trail Camp
Dave Jarvis, director of Rainbow Trail Camp, reports that the Westcliffe Fire has crossed the camp perimeter near the stables, but firefighters have been able to keep all of the buildings safe.
An hour into registration on Sunday, orders were to evacuate the camp due to the nearby Westcliffe fire. Camp Director Dave Jarvis wrote, "I cannot say enough about how well our staff performed on Sunday and how the safety of all has been paramount. Our counseling and support staff have made camp happen in a very real way. The power of this ministry is the people."
The entire camp has been moved to Horn Creek, a camp that can accommodate them well.
He asked for continued prayers for the Rainbow Trail Site. "The fire has encompassed our site," Dave said, "And yet, we have lost no structures. We are so grateful for the work of the fire fighters." Dave has not been allowed to return to the camp site to check it out first hand. |
