Michael Mortvedt, the co-director of Alternatives for Simple Living, and the staff of the Presbyterian Hunger Program. [Rev. What Jesus Wants for Christmas
When we celebrate a birthday, we are careful to give what the person really wants or needs. Is there any doubt what Jesus wants from us? We give to Jesus when we give to the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick and the imprisoned. (Matt 23:30-40)
By helping to provide a goat for a farmer in Honduras, a decent home for a family in rural Mississippi, food for those who are victims of war, or advocating for ending torture, you can give Jesus a birthday gift he really wants.
If you would like to receive more information on how to give a meaningful gift to those in need, please visit ELCA Good Gifts. To receive a copy of Whose Birthday Is It, Anyway, a publication of Alternatives for Simple Living, visit their website to request a FREE copy.

First Lutheran College in the Middle East
Dar Al-Kalima College is the first Lutheran college in the Middle East, begun by Lutherans at the Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem and their pastor, Mitri Raheb. When he was here in September, Pastor Raheb was raising money for the college. During his visit, Denver Lutherans (ELCA and Missouri Synod) raised more than $17,000 for the college. We formed an ongoing Bright Stars group that is working to raise another $50,000 this next year. The college has already graduated at least classes of students who have completed a two-year degree. The college is expanding its programs each year. The dedication of the college was November 30. Want to learn more? -----------------------------------------------------------------

MUSIC RESOURCE | Wurlitzer Organ Available FREE of Charge
A member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Los Alamos, NM would be happy to donate to any congregation that could use it a model number 4480, vintage 1967 Wurlitzer organ (owner's manual available). It has two keyboards, 38 stops, 10 black pedal keys, and numerous buttons for various percussion effects, ssh-boom, sustain, and couplers.
The organ is in very good condition and is located in the basement of the member's father's house in southwest Denver. The house will go on the market within the next month, so it would be great to have it taken as soon as possible. Moving the organ might require a piano-mover to get it.
