Football Food Follies
Get Cheesy

superbowl2010The playoff season is here, and whether your team is in or not (sorry, Rams fans-you just missed out with that stellar 1-15 season), we think it's the perfect excuse to have a party...and serve cheese.  When people think football parties, particularly Super Bowl bashes, they generally go all masculine-meat-big portions-beer and basic.  But not surprisingly, we think cheese should play a big part in these gatherings.  Besides, women like football, too.  In fact, some women like football more than their men.  (Wait, did I just say that some women like football more than they like their men?  Or more than their men like football?  You decide.)  Or you might watch the big game for the commercials or the potential halftime scandal.  So without giving up any machismo, here are some cheesy football food ideas, and a sweet deal.  If you order $50 or more online from us before the Super Bowl on February 7th, we'll give you 15% off.  Just enter the code super2010 in the coupon field when checking out. (Order by Tuesday, February 1st to get it there in time for the big game.)

Grow up

Bev Bennet writes about Robust Grilled Cheese for Grown-ups, published in the Hartford Courant:
Start by using cheese with robust, adult flavor. Buy a block of fine aged cheddar, such as the Tillamook or Grafton Village Cheese brand, in place of processed cheese. Although you can buy shredded cheese, buy a block of cheese instead and shred it just before making the sandwich to assure best quality.

Smith & Wollensky in Chicago is having a Chicago Scotch Dinner with Grafton Village Cheese on January 27th.

Cheesetraders in Burlington tweets: Did you know? Grafton Cheese offers farmers a premium during milk pricing downturn! We're proud to offer Grafton Cheeses to our customers.

cheese in shape of vtStuart Watson was eating some Grafton cheese the other day and lo and behold, a piece broke off into the shape of our state.  Yup, he's a photographer, so he shared.
