Covered Bridge Rules...at the Market?
Sympathy for the Shopper

Price Chopper More and more supermarkets are offering specialty cheeses, and that means Grafton Village Cheese can now be found all over the country in markets like ShopRite, Wegman's, and Price Chopper.   While we're thrilled to be in supermarkets, we can't help but think about the act of supermarket shopping.  So we've been pondering the Covered Bridge Rules that we recently wrote about. Now granted, you don't generally find a covered bridge in a supermarket.  But do the Rules apply?  Let's discuss.

We've identified a few categories of shoppers that jam up the works.  The first is the Deep Thinker.  The Deep Thinker contemplates the wall of choices before her.  Chicken Noodle or Chicken with Rice?  Three for $5 or $1.69 each?  But when seven carts pile up behind her, choose and move.

Last is the Parking Violator.  You rarely see this person, because she has skulked away before you arrived.  The crime: leaving the cart in the parking spot.  You pull into a seemingly perfect spot, and wham!  Your shopping experience is ruined before it's begun.  Was she kindly leaving the cart there for the next person?  Um, no.

Now think again about the Covered Bridge Rules:  alternate, wave, pass.  For supermarkets, much the same, swapping the wave for the cart return.  Next time you're at the supermarket, look for Grafton Village Cheese, and follow the CBR.  Thoughts?  Send 'em to info@graftonvillagecheese.com.
