Many new Nantucket books have hit our shelves this summer... you've seen the bestsellers, but we're also thrilled to offer a wonderful collection of new non-fiction titles. Here's a quick round-up.

Please click the images or links to find more information than I have time to type into this email. (Of course if you'd like to place an order you're more than welcome to do that too. Remember, we ship anywhere!)

FRIDAY AUGUST 14th 5:00-7:00 PM at Cisco Brewers

An All-Star Booktasting
featuring
Elin Hilderbrand, Wendy Rouillard, and Mary Haft

All Stars

We've had several book events out at the brewery this year, and the way the "Booktasting" idea works is that we just set up a booksigning table & everyone soaks up some music and atmosphere while chatting with the author(s). Very informal. With your purchase you get a coupon for a libation. Simple as that. With the three charming authors this week, it's already going to be a festive little party--do join us!

"HOLY HOTNESS, THESE BOOKS ARE FLYING!!!"

How glad are we that it finally warmed up this summer?! It was fun to read during chilly June but it's more fun to read on a hot beach. Another nice thing for us is when big releases land during July & August. (Thank you, Harry Potter!) A few biggies are hot off the presses.

Pat Conroy waiting something like 14 years between novels, so people were hungry for "South of Broad," on sale this week:

Stieg Larsson, king of Swedish crime fiction, is the man of the hour... too bad he didn't live to see his popularity. Happily he finished a third novel before his untimely demise. We'll let you know when that's released next year, but in the meantime we have the follow-up to Girl With the Dragon Tattoo:

Girl Who Played with Fire

Lastly here's the book I plugged on Plum TV two weeks ago, spurring a nice little run for literary fiction. It takes as a jumping-off point Philippe Petit's tightrope walk between the Twin Towers, weaving equally improbable connections through the lives of the disparate main characters. Unique and moving, and a stunning kaleidoscope, if you will, of New York City.

 Let the Great World Spin

Okay enough already, I want to go read and I hope that by now you do too. But here's one more teaser: the upcoming fall list is one of the most amazing literary line-ups we've seen in eons. Huzzah!

Speaking of New York City as I just was in that last book blurb, I'm heading there on a buying trip this weekend. Thrillingly, we can report that the gloom & doom estimates we made in the spring for Bookworks' summer sales were way off so I get to restock the shelves with gusto. If you have any requests (perhaps you recall a certain sideline fondly from our past?) please let us know by responding to this email. We'll do our best to tailor our offerings to our dear customers' every reasonable whim.

Cheers, Wendy Hudson et al.
