Proper Mental Attitudes-
| Abraham Lincoln had this to say about commitment:
"COMMITMENT is what transforms a promise into reality. It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions. And the actions which speak louder than the words.
It is making the time when there is none. Coming through time after time after time, year after year after year. Commitment is the stuff character is made of; the power to change the face of things. It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism."

Sunny Side of Life | Some tough questions-
If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from?
Is Disney World the only people trap operated by a mouse?
Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?
Why did you just try singing the two songs above?
Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's in your butt?
Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride; he sticks his head out the window?

SEEDS of SUCCESS by Bob Prentice

| Commitment and Re-Commitment Initially, when we make a commitment to a project, a cause, a person, or anything that is vitally important in our life, we honestly
believe that we will follow through to completion utilizing the best of our
abilities. Have you ever noticed how life has a tendency to get in the way? Things
come up. Curves are thrown at us. We duck; sometimes we even run. But in the
end, amazingly life just still happens.
Making those dreams become a reality is a matter of commitment and often times re-commitment when we drift off course. Looking back
I can see many times where I have drifted off on a variety of commitments in my life.
Some I just had to let go. Others though, I knew in my heart of hearts that I
needed to follow through to completion.
My dear wife tells me that sometimes I am just down right
stubborn. Technically, I just want to be stubborn about the right things. It is
amazing to me how decision making and our commitments go hand in hand. Think
about it. Have we not all made a decision about something and made a major
commitment then later, some new information came in and you then wish you would have thought it out more or had done a better job getting all the facts
before making the commitment? Maybe this is my age talking here-but I have learned
to be cautious in the making of life commitments.
I have discovered that it is best to not
be in such a hurry to make
commitments. And I definitely do not let anyone compel me to make a
decision
quickly. I take time to gather all the
facts. I try to picture myself down the road living the results of the
commitment. I do this before I act.
Once a commitment is made, I find that most people almost always go through a series of emotions. Naturally, when we first make a commitment, we all get excited about it. After a while we get a bit frustrated, and then shock and denial sets in, which usually leads to becoming fearful. That fear twists our brain pretty bad and sometimes we get
angry. We lash out in anger at others when in reality we are frustrated with
ourselves and this commitment we have made and that is what is driving us
crazy. We then innocently go looking for another commitment to get involved in
hoping that we will feel better about ourselves when in all honesty everything
just gets a little bit more crazy in our life.
Stop the spinning. Get off the bus. Pause for a moment and
ask yourself what is really important in the scheme of things. Rethink your
priorities. Let go of only what you
honestly believe you must let go of and make re-commitments where you can and should. Very often, all you really need to do is take time to remind yourself why you made the commitment in the first place and you will see that what you really want to do is get back to that place where you are excited about your life.
