CParticipative Strategy Planning in an Energy Company

Over the years we've designed and facilitated a number of strategic

planning processes, and we've come to 3 important conclusions that drive our work;

  • Strategy planning and execution are concurrent and interdependent.
  • Internally integrating and aligning an organization is an essential prerequisite for successfully connecting the whole organization with its customers.
  • Strategy planning always requires a significant educational component - about the industry, and the business's priorities & capabilities.

Recently we helped the Corporate Functions within an energy company build and execute a Strategic Planning process which aligned their activities more closely with their business partners' priorities.

Read more about the importance of alignment to strategy execution here, and how we Align Organizations through Participative Strategy Planning here, or contact Breck@ArnzenGroup.com

DLearning from Cross-Functional Teams in an Online Service Provider

Temporary cross-functional and even inter-organizational teams are commonplace, and provide an excellent platform for learning, particularly about team dynamics, personal leadership and organizational execution.

Recently we supported an executive Action Learning team at an online provider of marketing products and services, using a combination of individual coaching, structured conversations and Hogan assessments.

HDeveloping Project Leadership in a Biotech Company

When a biotech company asked us for ideas on how to develop their Project Leadership capability, we looked around to see what existing research we could leverage. We found that;

  • What is written about Project Leadership in biotech is usually actually about Project MANAGEMENT
  • Very little research has been done on Project LEADERSHIP in biotech; most of what we found had its origins in large-scale engineering & IT projects.

As a result, we developed a process and a suite of tools to clarify the responsibilities and assess the essential competencies of the company's Project Leaders. You can read more about this project here in our blog.

We're about to begin our own research to identify the most valuable developmental experiences for potential biotech Project Leaders. If you'd like to take part, contact Mick@ArnzenGroup.com
