Truffles the PigletWHEN PIGS FLY

A lost piglet took flight to a farm-sweet-farm

A tiny piglet found a safe haven at Foothills Animal Shelter after being rescued from a highway median. While the piglet's bumps and bruises healed, our Director of Operations located a farm that orphaned oinker's dreams are made of!

Haircut-in-progress at Mohawks for Mutts
Devin L. gets a mohawk to raise funds for orphaned pets.
Mohawks for Mutts

Ten adults and one brave dog underwent a dramatic hairstyle change to prove their loyalty to the animals cared for by Foothills Animal Shelter. Mohawks for Mutts, hosted by Foothills Animal Foundation, raised more than $3,000 to help homeless animals! Thanks to all of our supporters, Roosters Arvada, Monkeywood Steel band, and In The Zone Sports Bar.

A Simple Fix makes a big difference!

Did you know that cats and dogs can have multiple litters per year? If one cat has six kittens every three months for five years, that's 120 kittens! Can you imagine if all of those kittens had litters, too? Luckily, pet overpopulation can be easily prevented with a simple fix. A Simple Fix mobile spay/neuter clinic

Thanks to support from the Animal Assistance Foundation, our mobile surgical unit, "A Simple Fix," has already hosted two clinics since late July - and has spayed/neutered dozens of pets in our community.

Upcoming mobile spay/neuter clinics (Fridays, 7:30 am check-in):
  • August 24 - Big R Farm & Ranch Supply, Conifer
  • September 14 - Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply, Westminster
  • September 21 - Fruitdale Park Dog Park, Wheat Ridge
  • September 28 - Wag N' Wash, Littleton
What a summer it has been! From the beginning of May through the end of July, the Shelter has participated in 20 offsite events, held 39 vaccine clinics, returned 500 animals to their families and adopted 1,172 more into forever homes.

Thank you for your continued support of our important mission - to provide the best care possible for every animal that enters our doors. We truly could not do this life-saving work without friends like you.

Sincerely,

Foothills Animal Shelter
with the support of Foothills Animal Foundation*
