The Passionate Pursuit of Efficiency
-Monthly Tip-
agenda 2
Want more efficient meetings? Nothing is more frustrating than a meeting that has no clear purpose and meanders from topic to topic. All meetings should have an agenda distributed to all attendees beforehand so that you know what you're going to be discussing and deciding upon.
CornerStone is GROWING again...we have moved to serve you better. Please note the address is the same, the only change is: Suite #203

Greetings!

PDCA or Plan-Do-Check-Act is at the cornerstone of everything we do. By following these continual improvement steps, we can identify issues that hinder our workplace efficiency. At a very high level, it works like this:

  • Plan - develop goals
  • Do - implement
  • Check - monitor progress
  • Act - standardize

As with any initiative CSD does, we always incorporate a PDCA and look for ways to constantly improve. Including this newsletter! We are at the CHECK point of Efficiency Matters and want your review of this newsletter - the good, the bad, and the ugly are greatly appreciated. Send comments to Adriana@CornerStoneDynamics.com

Here's to continuous process improvement!

  Yardstick - July 2012

Are you looking for corporate resolutions or the 'glue' that supports the healthy functioning of your business, providing vision and guidance to your staff.

Read more in Adriana's article: Corporate Resolutions: Not Just for the New Year, as seen in the July 2012 Yardstick.

Who Knew! Stats to chew on...

Executives waste six weeks per year searching for lost documents. For an executive with a $60,000 per year salary, this can mean a loss of $8,000 for the company (survey of 2,600 executives by Esselte as reported by The Wall Street Journal)

Who said that fun and work were mutually exclusive?

Have we unknowingly incorporated the quote used in exercise "no pain, no gain" to the workplace? Is work meant to be stifling and boring? Let's hope not, because boredom can give rise to burnout. The benefits to a pleasant and happy workplace are that happy employees are more loyal and productive employees.  So take time to incorporate fun activities into your workplace.

We do it at CSD - and the staff appreciate it!
