CTSI FUNDING OPPORTUNITY
Team Science Award in Cardiovascular Translational Sciences
UCLA CTSI and UCLA Cardiovascular Research Laboratory are accepting applications for Team Science Awards in Translational Cardiovascular Sciences from research teams at CTSI partner and affiliate institutions to conduct multidisciplinary, team-oriented and high-impact research in the area of cardiovascular diseases. Each research team will receive up to $100,000 from CTSI and an equal amount in matching funds from their home institution/department spread over one or two years. FREE WORKSHOP
Register Now for UCLA CTSI K Award Workshop
The daylong workshop for will feature presentations about the NIH K award process, developing and writing a K proposal, and the UCLA CTSI KL2 awards. In addition, CTSI senior leadership will review and discuss draft applications submitted in advance by attendees and provide feedback on preparing successful K award applications. The free workshop is open to anyone at the four CTSI partner institutions who is eligible for a K award. However, the workshop is especially relevant to those who plan to submit in the fall.

REMINDER
A two-week course on preparing research proposals begins July 9. The course, "Essentials of Clinical Investigation: Developing a Research Proposal," uses a small-group format to teach junior faculty and trainees to develop grant proposals. Enrollment is limited to 25 students and a $350 fee is required. For enrollment information and other details, click here.

CALL FOR REVIEWERS
CTSI is delighted to report that we have received a large number of registrations for our first ever K Award workshop. We now need 40 volunteers to review clinical or basic science K award proposals to make the workshop a success. Volunteers are needed from UCLA, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science. Volunteers will receive by July 5 one or two applications to review for the July 26 workshop. Come help support the next generation of translational scientists.
