As the saying goes, it's lonely at the top.  But is that the way it should be for a great leader?

 

Perhaps as it relates to how the leader feels, it rings true.  Leaders should sacrifice and take risks for others, and when it comes to such acts of courage, it's not surprising that he or she stands alone.  But in the context here, it's about the connections that a leader needs to have with their followers.  Great leaders shouldn't be alone because they share their success, don't leave their followers behind, and bring others to the top with them.  Read more ...

Author Linda Cureton will be hosting a book discussion on her latest book The Leadership Muse on BlogTalk Radio. It will air Wednesday,June 27, 2012 at 7:00 pm.   

The topic of this show is Resiliency: The Oasis in the Leadership Desert. Ths discussion will center around questions that we all have about the challenges in our leadership walk.  These challenges often leave us feeling cold, afraid and alone in a barren desert with few places to find sustenance and norishment.  We will talk about how to find those places of refuge where we can rest and renew thus preparing us for the next leadership challanges.
