Focus On Membership: An interview with Misty Wise
| Misty Wise has been a member of EWGA since February 2011. She began playing golf when she became an Executive at Verizon Telecom in Tampa, Florida. After years of playing volleyball and basketball, she decided to give golf a try since it seemed that everyone in the office was engaged in the pursuit of breaking 90. After changing jobs last year and transferring to Orlando. It became the perfect opportunity to build relationships with her new co workers, as well as network with women in her newly adopted city. Misty recently competed in EWGA Match Play Tournament and discovered that the format reignited her passion for competitive sports. As Membership Chairperson, Misty would like to expand the membership to include more women that are just beginning to rise up the corporate ladder, start their own business or are budding community leaders. Help her towards this goal. Recruit new members! Misty can be contacted at 407-791-6369 or ladygator121@gmail.com
Once a Member, Always a Member
Good news! The reinstatement fee for former members to "rejoin" is gone.
We know that women have many reasons they need to take an occasional break from EWGA - job change, family, injury, etc. And many have told us they would like to hear from us again the following year so they can reconnect.
When former members are ready to rejoin EWGA - they just pay the regular renewal fee, without any additional fees needed.
Get in touch with former and lapsed members early this year. Invite them to one of our events. Remind them that when they are ready to get back on the course, EWGA is ready to welcome them back

Focus on Volunteers & Leadership: Molly Brethour
| Molly Brethour is looking for a few good women - volunteer women, that is, for EWGA. Orlando. A native of Toronto Canada, Molly began playing golf when she was a teenager and has played off and on over the years. Thanks to the portability option provided by EWGA, Molly transferred her Little Rock EWGA membership to Orlando when her job relocated to Central Florida. Her first volunteer activity with EWGA was in 2009, her first year as a new member of the Orlando Chapter. As the Chairperson of the Leadership/Volunteer committee, Mollie knows that the organization depends upon active participation by volunteers at each and every event. Fortunately, our chapter has a number of great volunteers, but the size of the Orlando chapter and the strength of it's programs, means we always needs more member volunteers. The Volunteer Incentive Program was created two years ago to recognize the hardworking contributors to our organization. Volunteers are awarded points for their contributions which culminate in a drawing at the end of the year for a free EWGA membership. Check out the EWGA-Orlando website for details. Help make us a great EWGA Chapter. Volunteer for an event this year. Contact Mollie at mollybr@cfl.rr.com or 407-321-9170 |

Golf Etiquette-Pace of Play
|
You don't need to be a great player to be welcome in any foursome!
"Pace of play isn't about rushing your shots, it's about being ready to play your stroke when it's your turn, and behaving efficiently on the course." Brent Kelly
You should never have to rush a shot, but being ready to go will be appreciated by your playing partners as well as the groups behind you. Take a look at these reminders and remember to implement them when you play. Pace of play reminders
