From the Dean
 | | Fern Jennings |
Thirty or so chapter members and friends gathered on Sunday at the home of Hildred and Ed Tornberg for a "Beginning of the Year" picnic. Octoberfest was the theme of the picnic with a keg of beer provided by Hemry Organs and brats and sauerkraut served by the hosts. Those attending enjoyed the Tornberg's lovely home with its extensive country yard and garden. The weather cooperated with a dry and warm afternoon. Conversation, eating, of course, and playing of the house Ruggles organ were the order of the afternoon. A highlight of the afternoon was the playing of an organ duet by Bob Schneider and Betty Meyers. It was great to see so many of you

there! Thanks to our Sub-dean and program chair, Barbara MacGregor and the picnic committee: Hildred Tornberg, Tim Hemry and Carol Neff. Carol Neff was unfortunately unable to attend due to a family emergency. It was good to chat with so many of you there and catch up on news.
Please mark your calendar for our October recital on October 17 by Daryl Robinson and note the important information detailed below about how your choir can participate in our November Hymn Festival with John Ferguson.
Best to all,
Fern

Received from Anthony Thurman Dear Ms. Jennings,
Thank you for your chapter's contribution to the AGO. Your chapter's generous gift of $500.00 to the Annual Fund (Chapters) was recorded on 8/31/2012. Our 2011-2012 donor list will be published in the December 2012 issue of THE AMERICAN ORGANIST Magazine.
The mission of the American Guild of Organists is to enrich lives through organ and choral music. Your generous contribution helps to support this mission through educational programs, outreach, and member services that otherwise could never be supported by membership dues alone.
Please extend our thanks to the members of your chapter executive board for this gift. Thank you again for your support of the AGO!
Sincerely yours,
F. Anthony Thurman, DMA Director of Development and Communications American Guild of Organists
