About Job Postings
From the Dean
Jennings, Fern
Fern Jennings

I met with Jim Riggs this week for the hand-over of the Dean's material, officially ending Jim's tenure as your Dean. Leaving very big shoes to fill, I must say. I am impressed by Jim's leadership- his professionalism, organizational skills, and creativity. Highlights of his term include instituting the weekly update, last fall's organ week, and the NYACOP semi-finals. Our thanks to Jim and outgoing Officers, Leah Hottel and David Powers as well as Robert Moncrief, Peg Limkemann and Jonathan Moyer, who have completed three year terms on the Executive Committee.

One of the strengths of this organization is the support that has been given over the years by members who serve off-board as chairs of standing committees. One such person, who has been chair of the Professional Concerns Committee for many years, is Robert Schneider. Bob has represented the chapter in a number of grievance procedures over the years- a difficult process at best. Bob has resigned from that committee. We thank him for his service. Also, Missy Koch, who has been sending our chapter event information to The American Organist, has notified me of her resignation. Our thanks to Missy.

Cliff Hill has agreed to chair the Professional Concerns Committee for our Chapter. Betty Myers will do submissions to TAO. I am filling other committee positions and will prepare an update in the coming weeks.

Best to you,
Fern

Looking for an Organist

[Note: the following query came through on the AGO Cleveland web site.  If you have information to share, please contact Rev. Bacon directly.]

A colleague of mine is a hospice chaplain. Recently a patient of hers died and we are trying to locate a friend of hers whose name, unfortunately, is eluding us. I am hoping you might know him.

All we know about him is that he is approximately 60 years old and is Irish - still with quite a thick accent. He used to teach our patient organ and likely played in Catholic parishes in cleveland.

If you know of anyone who fits this bill would you please contact me? Thank you for your help.
