FROM THE DEAN
 | | Dean Jim Riggs |
A round of applause is extended to James David Christie and Jack Mitchener for putting together an informative program for the Alain Centennial last Saturday in Oberlin. Jehan Alain's niece, Dr. Aurélie Decourt gave two wonderful lectures showing slides of organs, manuscripts, and letters and drawings by Alain. She took questions from those present and signed copies of her new book on the Alain family. After the two lectures an outstanding recital was presented in Finney Chapel by the students and faculty of Oberlin Conservatory. The program consisted of not only organ music of Alain, but also some of his vocal and chamber music including the Messe Modale. Many thanks to our colleagues at Oberlin for there work on this program. The Cleveland Organ Weekend (October 28, 29, 30) is quickly approaching. What are you doing to promote this weekend? Have you posted a flyer? Have you invited someone to one or many of the events? I would welcome your feedback at dean@agocleveland.org Have a great week and find a moment to bask in the sunshine. Jim

Cleveland Organ Weekend poster is now available for download as a PDF from the chapter web site. Please help advertise this exciting weekend of organ music. The poster was designed to be printed on legal size paper. Natural and cream papers look quite rich with the color scheme, but white is also fine. If you don't have legal paper at home, please print it at your church if possible. If you print on letter size paper, please consider trimming the sides. A supply of posters will be available at the October meeting in Oberlin or you may contact Don Jackson at donclef@aol.com.
