FROM THE DEAN
 | | Dean Jim Riggs |
Dear Colleagues, I hope to see many of you on Saturday at Oberlin for the 100th anniversary celebration of Jehan Alain. I have been told that some of our colleagues from Akron will be attending. Don Jackson reports he will have some yearbooks available to handout. Yearbooks will also be available for pick-up during the Cleveland Organ Weekend. Yearbooks that have not been claimed by the end of October will be mailed. In celebration of our upcoming Cleveland Organ Weekend, WCLV 104.9 will air two 1-hour programs of Liszt organ works played by Thomas Trotter, taken from our Choice CD of the Month, "Liszt: The Collection." The programs will air Wednesday nights at 9:00 pm on October 5th and 26th, and will be hosted by WCLV critic and organ aficionado, Jerome Crossley. The month of October is here and so is some great programming. All we need is YOU to come and to connect. With excitement, Jim

Cleveland Organ Weekend
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 28, 29, 30, 2011See the full schedule of events (with even more detail to come)
Cleveland Organ Weekend poster is now available for download as a PDF from the chapter web site. Please help advertise this exciting weekend of organ music. The poster was designed to be printed on legal size paper. Natural and cream papers look quite rich with the color scheme, but white is also fine. If you don't have legal paper at home, please print it at your church if possible. If you print on letter size paper, please consider trimming the sides. A supply of posters will be available at the October meeting in Oberlin or you may contact Don Jackson at donclef@aol.com.

Can You Help Identify This Organist?
 | | Do you know who this woman is? |
Greetings,
I am the newsletter editor for the Richmond, VA AGO chapter. I am trying to run down some information to help one of our members. The attached photo is of a lady who was apparently an organist in the Cleveland area during the 1920's. We are trying to gather more information on her. I was wondering if your chapter archives contain any information about her or about the organ at WHK Radio studio, or if any of your members may happen to remember her. We are not even sure if her name is Arjant or Anjant since her autograph leaves some doubt as to the correct letters.
Any help or leads would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
John DeMajo
