The Splash
Volume 4, 2012

Dear ,

Welcome to the latest edition of The Splash - the dedicated e-newsletter from Lovibond Tintometer for the Pool and Spa industry.

What a summer that was! The Queen's Jubilee, the Olympics and then the Paralympics all kept us on the edge of our chairs here in the UK. But all good things must come to an end.

As we head in to the year's 4th quarter, there is still plenty to do - not least a few new product launches.

pH and TDS Readings with Lovibond® Accuracy

pH (0-14 units) and

TDS (0-999ppm: 1-10ppt)

Results can be stored and saved in the meters' memory for later review, enabling the easy recall of data for record keeping requirements.

A robust housing and waterproof casing (IP67) provide an ideal solution for pool and spa electrochemical testing.

Lovibond® Products, keeping Athletes Safe at Eton Manor

EtonManorTesting
A series of Lovibond® CheckITDirect 6in1's was selected to monitor the purity of the water at Eton Manor throughout this summer.  The photometers were put to good use over the summer, analysing the cleanliness of the water and ensuring pristine conditions in the Synchronised Swimming Pool, the Water Polo Pool and 3 Training Pools. The Lovibond® photometers, measuring Chlorine, pH, Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, Bromine and Cyanuric Acid  were chosen for their ease of use yet unquestionable accuracy in results, keeping the athletes safe and healthy throughout the events.

Charity Hospital Ship Receives Vital Lovibond® Equipment

The group is supplying a range of products to Mercy Ships free of charge as a contribution to the excellent work this charity is performing. The Lovibond® water testing equipment and reagents being supplied now include kits to test for Chloride, Nitrite and Ferrion to prevent corrosion of the main engine in what is, naturally, a salty environment.

Mercy Ships runs the world's largest charity hospital ship, the Africa Mercy which is currently in field service in Guinea.

MercyShips  The Africa Mercy has been converted from a Danish rail ferry to a state-of-the-art hospital ship, with six operating theatres, X-ray facilities and CT scanner, a pharmacy and a laboratory. There is capacity for 78 in-patients with four wards and a small intensive care unit as well as housing up to 450 volunteers. It is staffed by an international crew of dedicated volunteers from over 40 nations ranging from seamen, engineers, surgeons, doctors and nurses who give up their time to help save the lives of others.

Chris Counsell, Managing Director of The Tintometer Ltd said: "We are proud to donate to the charity Mercy Ships and hope that these products will help it continue its excellent work in West Africa. I am very pleased we can support such a worthy cause."
