Greetings!
Like many of the youth growing up in the late sixties and early seventies, I too was a fan of the musical youth group, the Jackson Five. Now, I recognize that I am dating myself here, but I must admit those were exciting days indeed. One of my favorite songs of the Jacksons was their mega hit, Never Can Say Goodbye. When I listened to this song as a teen, I had no idea that years later while in college, I would be a classmate of Clifton Davis, the one who wrote this much-loved tune. Even though this song was recorded in 1971, it still has a great deal of popularity as it continues to be covered by artists even today.

"Never Can Say Goodbye" One of the reasons why I feel this song has resonated so powerfully with so many is that saying goodbye is such a difficult thing to do, especially if it involves saying goodbye to people, places and things that have made such an indelible impression on our lives. This Sabbath the Sligo family says goodbye to such a person, Pastor Rebecca Brillhart. Pastor Brillhart's impact upon the Sligo Church and the Sligo community at large is one that will never be forgotten. Although she has spent the last fifteen years as an associate pastor, her ministry has had the kind of impact that would be expected from that of someone in a senior pastor's role. The reason for that is that Pastor Brillart is a leader and good leaders have a way of knowing how best to impact people's lives by helping them to become leaders in their own rights. Yes the time has come for her to say goodbye, but in doing so she leaves behind more than just a host of good memories, and there are a lot of those. She leaves behind a band of committed leaders, leaders that she has cultivated to understand that the mark of a Christian leader is one's willingness first to become a committed follower of Jesus Christ. So, it is with heavy hearts that the Sligo family says goodbye to the Brillharts, Pastor Rebecca, husband, Dave, and the girls, Katie and Leslie. We will miss you greatly, but we know that wherever your path leads, you will be easy to find by the trail of leaders that you will leave behind.
Pr. Charles A. TappSenior Pastor
