Greetings!
I'm sure you have discovered that there are times in the Christian's life when strange and unexplainable things occur. Those moments in life that completely catch you off guard. Sometimes it may be the loss of a loved one, or it could be that moment when you feel as though your life's dream is beginning to crumble right before your eyes and there is little you can do to stop it. ...(read more below) |

Midnight Experiences... I have discovered that when it comes to these midnight experiences, no one is exempt. From the pulpit to the pew, from the young to the not so young, all are vulnerable. And because these experiences cannot be avoided, the key is how each of us responds to these moments when our faith in God is painfully put to the test. In Acts 16:16 - 26, we are told of a midnight experience. Here we have Paul and Silas being severely beaten and placed into prison simply because they had the courage to stand tall for the gospel of Jesus Christ. What is surprising is not the fact that they were imprisoned, but rather how these men responded to their circumstances. One would expect that after having been badly beaten, the sounds coming from that prison cell would be of anguish and groaning, but instead sounds of singing were heard. I'm sure that the guards as well as the other prisoners must have thought Paul and Silas' behavior was peculiar. But as I said earlier, strange and unusual things happen at midnight. But wait, the best was yet to come. Luke 16:26 says, "And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bands were loosed." Although the word "midnight" is associated with being the darkest hour, it can also be a perfect opportunity for God to reveal His faithfulness in our lives. Just as He showed up for Paul and Silas in the confines of a lonely prison cell, He can do the same for you, regardless of how dark your situation may appear. Senior Pastor |

The Three Looks
This Sabbath we will be celebrating the most sacred and symbolic ceremony in the Christian church, the Holy Communion. This has become a special time here in the life of the Sligo family and we look forward to sitting at the table that Jesus, through His sacrifice has prepared for each of us. In light of this being Communion Sabbath, I have titled my message, The Three Looks.
