Rebooting

But a funny thing happened as I was preparing to send my portion of the eWeekend to the office so that it could be distributed. As I was attempting to get online to email the document, I discovered that I had no internet connection although my laptop registered that there was a signal present.Assuming that there might be a problem with my laptop, I decided to try another computer only to discover that the problem remained. After several attempts of trying to fix the situation on my own, I finally decided to call my internet provided who would later tell me that the problem was that my router which sends the wireless internet signal throughout my house needed to be rebooted. After making some adjustments on their end the automated technician asked that I turn my router off, wait about 20 seconds and then turn it on again and by then my internet connection should be restored.

After having followed the instructions that I was given to the letter, as promised my signal was restored and I was able to forward the eWeeked devotional thought as planned. But what I did not tell you was how frustrating it was for me not having this connection in place when I needed it. I hadn't realized how much I really depended upon until it was it was gone, even if it was only for a few minutes. It reminds me of what Jesus said in John 15:5:

I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing." --Amplified

How has your connection with God been lately? Has it remained intact as a result of precious time spent in prayer and the study of his word? Or has it be disrupted at times because of the busy schedule you are trying to maintain in spite of the damage you know it is having on your walk with Him? Well, my advice for you is simple. Why don't you turn some things off in your life and take time and reboot your relationship with your Creator. I have this on the authority from the heavenly technician of our lives, that if you follow these instructions carefully your connection will be restored and your signal will become active once again. Can you say, reboot?

May God bless you richly as you make plans to turn off a few things in your life so that you might begin to reboot your relationship with your heavenly father. And by God's grace I look forward to seeing you this Sabbath as we experience the sweet fellowship that is ours through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Prayer Gathering Celebrates Eight Years

This past Tuesday night, our Tuesday night Prayer Gathering celebrated another year of revitalizing our prayer lives.

We celebrated this legacy of prayer with fruit and fellowship. We are reminded that a life of prayer produces fruit in our lives!

The Prayer Gathering was first introduced to Sligo by Pastor Tapp when he stopped in the middle of a sermon eight years ago and revealed to the church family that the Holy Spirit was prompting his heart to invite everyone to come and pray. Seven-hundred and fifty people came together that next Tuesday evening!

Those that continue to meet have been blessed by a strong partnership of prayer ever since.

Prayer Gathering

Whether you have needs or a praise to lift up, we invite you to join us as we revitalize our prayer lives during this weekly gathering. We are currently studying a newly released book "Revival" by E.G. White. We will provide a copy for you when you come.
