FOR GERMAN-AMERICAN HALL OF FAME
SIEGFRIED & ROY and CARL SCHURZ
Are This Year's Inductees
NEW YORK - The German-American Hall of Fame will be honoring world famous entertainers Siegfried & Roy of Las Vegas and American Statesman, reformer, newspaper editor and orator, Carl Schurz. The event will take place from 6:30 - 9:30 PM on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at New York's Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
The German-American Hall of Fame celebrates the fascinating stories of Americans with German roots, who have truly come to help define the United States over the centuries. "Siegfried & Roy and Carl Schurz have amazing stories to tell or their careers here in America," said German-American Hall of Fame President William Hetzler. "We established this hall of fame to recognize and celebrate the impact of German immigrants on the United States and their progeny by highlighting some of the most remarkable German-Americans making history."
Founded by prominent Americans of German ancestry in 2004, the German-American Hall of Fame was established to recognize and honor deserving German-Americans; to create awareness and appreciation of the huge impact German-Americans made on the evolution of the United States; and to present a positive, progressive, and accurate image of Americans of German ancestry.
