Featured Chef: Janis Canedy Jope-Lofgren

Janis can often be found getting "Baked" in the kitchen with some of her favorites: the aptly named Cookbook "Baked", her Kitchen Aid Mixer, and the 5 foods she would want with her on a deserted island: Milk, Eggs, Butter, Flour, and Sugar. My favorite thing about Janis's meals and recipes is that she uses fresh ingredients, often from her own organic garden and incorporates them into any dish. She also has a natural talent to take any recipe, even one that is already perfect, and make it even MORE delicious by adding a new ingredient or cooking technique.
P.S. Dear Janis, I'm off this Friday night. *hint hint* :

E-Interview with Janis: Q: What is your favorite meal to cook? A: Honey, Deli Mustard, and Walnut encrusted Salmon, and anything bake-able. Q: Do you have a "signature" ingredient, and if so what is it? A: Garlic, Onion, and Peppers are added to almost anything. Q: When you entertain, what dishes are a necessity at your house? A: Platter, platters, platters! They can be elegant and classy, or fun and festive. Q: What's your regular comfort meal? A: Mashed Potatoes Q: Are there any ingredients that define your cooking? A: I love one or more of the following in my salads, dips, and soups: FRESH Dill, Chives, Basil, Mint, Cilantro, and Lime. I always have these items on hand. Q: If you were on Death Row, what would be your last meal? A: Lobster and Filet Mignon, with Garlic Mashed and Grilled Asparagus. Don't forget the glass of Red! |
