Presenting the future: educating yourself and your customer...seizing the opportunity.
My dentist, Cliff Nakamoto, has been an audiophile for years and during my last visit (a typical one-sided dentist to patient conversation, or lack thereof) he expressed frustration that SACD is going away and that he is computer "challenged".  I explained (somewhat muffled) that high def content is going to be streamed over some type of network, and most probably purchased online, downloaded and stored somewhere- online or locally.  This presents a challenge to Cliff and many other serious listeners wanting the best possible source material. I see this as an opportunity.

You need to be aware of the options- all the way from Pandora on an iPhone to the newest generations of high definition steaming scenarios.

This newsletter features 3 manufacturers that absolutely know where technology is going and provide solutions and opportunities for you and your customer.

They can help.  I can help. And you can help your new and existing customer base.

Bryston adds new digital zone amplifier

Bryston is adding a new 8 channel digital amp to their line up.  Efficient, cool, bullet proof, and sounds like a Bryston!

Bryston is now also a leader in the high definition digital streaming and D/A conversion world with the BDA-1 and the BDP-1.  Bryston has received universal praise from all segments of the audio world- both the consumer and pro markets.

Speaking of Pro, I am pleased to announce that I now have the pro audio Bryston rep contract.  In the early 70's I worked for Sound Genesis in San Francisco calling on studios, as well as having a very modest 4 track recording facility in Walnut Creek.  I have been patiently waiting for the pro and consumer worlds to unite because those responsible on either end of the chain (production, recording, and playback) all want the same result- accurate, dynamic, and distortion free, goose bump-producing results.

PS Audio is quietly reinventing itself.

PW DAC

Not only is PS Audio aware of where high- quality audio playback is going, they are leading the way. How about something that is as easy as Sonos with high resolution?  The PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC and network bridge provide just that.

PS Audio is leading the way for this transition and will be building 100% of its product line in Boulder by year's end.

The PerfectWave Bridge

Inside the  PerfectWave Bridge is a remarkable piece of engineering that consists of 3 main elements: the communication portal, the musical format interpreter and a Digital Lens.

The communication portal allows the bridge to communicate with devices on your local network or on a remotely located device or service through the Internet.  If your home has DLNA compatible storage or media devices on the network, the Bridge discovers them automatically and makes them available through the front panel touch screen or our upcoming iPod and iPhone wireless remote control application (you can see this in action in our video).  If you are interested in Internet services such as Internet Radio or perhaps another media library at your office or second home, the bridge can find these as well and give you instant access.

Once the communication path has been established the Bridge can accept almost any format of music storage such as FLAC, MP3, AIFF, Windows media, WAV etc. and convert them into the format best suited for the PWD.  This conversion takes place through the Bridge's powerful onboard processor and once completed, the raw musical data is sent to the internal Digital Lens.

No one has ever regretted buying quality.  It's a matter of educating your customer (and yourselves).
