Las Palmas Happy Hour
 The SBAC's Happy Hour
is only one week away. Please join us for beer, wine and
margaritas from 6-8p.m. at Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant in Highland Park. Las Palmas,
an
SBAC member, will also be providing appetizers including flautas,
nachos,
quesadillas and guacamole.
 SBAC Happy Hours provide our members, and their
guests, with an
opportunity to meet, catch-up, and share information about their
businesses. If you have not attended an after-hour event with us, we
are
confident you will enjoy Las Palmas and be introduced to many business owners and other professionals.

Golf Outing Continues To Gain Momentum
 Our SBAC golf outing is attracting more
sponsors, prizes
and golfers each week. The golf outing will be held at Marriott's
Crane's
Landing golf course in Lincolnshire on Friday, July 23rd. The format
will be a scramble with a shotgun start. Players will receive lunch
and two drink tickets on the course.  After golf, SBAC members Joe DeMarco of DeMarco
Sciaccotta, LLP, and Sandy Saldano, owner of Therapeutic Kneads, will be
sponsoring a cocktail hour for our golfers. Therapeutic Kneads will also be providing complimentary massages after golf. Sullivan's Steakhouse, a
hole
sponsor, will be treating golfers to their famous steak
sandwiches as they tee off.
Great Prizes
Fields Chrysler Jeep is offering a 2010 Jeep
Wrangler for
a hole-in-one on a par three hole and the Marriott is donating a
foursome of
golf to benefit the SBAC. This foursome will be awarded for the
longest drive.

Advocacy
 The SBAC would like to thank
Congressional Candidate Dan Seals and State Representative Karen May for
meeting
with our policy team this past Saturday. Mr. Seals discussed his
ideas for loosening credit for small business owners who have
been hurt by the credit crisis. Representative May highlighted the opportunities available to business owners
through the new energy economy.  Both Mr. Seals and Rep. May
answered questions from SBAC members and took the time to talk with
each SBAC member individually. |

Scordo Elected To The Board Of ACFEWe
are proud to announce that SBAC member James Scordo, CFE was recently
elected to the Board of the
Greater
Chicago Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)
as a
Director-At-Large. Jim is the Manager of Financial Investigative
Services
at McGovern & Greene, LLP, a forensic accounting firm in Chicago. Through this new position, Jim will strengthen his efforts to raise
awareness in
