Bauer and Associates is proud to announce that attorney Matthew W. Thompson has joined its team!
Born in Lakeland, Florida, Matt Thompson grew up as a fourth generation Floridian and lived most of his life in Pinellas County, Florida until he attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida where he obtained his Bachelors of Science degree. He then received his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida and has been licensed to practice in all Florida state courts since June, 2006.
Matt served as an Assistant State Attorney in Volusia County, Florida since his admission to the Florida Bar, and brings extensive litigation experience to Bauer and Associates. He is concentrating his practice in the areas of litigation, business, real estate, estate planning, and probate.
Matt is a member of the Volusia County Bar Association, the DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce, Mainstreet DeLand Association and the DeLand Breakfast Rotary Club. Matt's wife, Erin, is also an attorney and together they own a small business in the historic area of downtown DeLand. They reside in an historic 1923 home in DeLand with their 2 golden retrievers, McCoy and Sophie. Matt enjoys being an active member in his community, running, and cycling.
