Mr. Braun was born in St. Petersburg, Florida and grew up in Lake County. He attended Wake Forest University and Wake Forest University School of Law, graduating with honors. After over 25 years of practice in Maryland, he returned to Florida and joined the firm of Bauer and Associates. He applies his 35 years of legal experience with the principles of knowledge, preparation, and zealous advocacy to achieve successful results for his clients. Mr. Braun is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as Circuit Court Mediator and has also completed training for Residential Mortgage Foreclosure mediation. He enjoys being active in his community and resides with his wife in DeLand. |

GO THE EXTRA MILE.....
We live in a country that provides great opportunities, yet there are people in need all around us - family members, friends, neighbors, and clients. The need may be large, small, physical, or emotional - whatever the need, each of us has the opportunity to "go the extra mile" and help others.
In Bible times, the law required a person to carry a Roman soldier's armor a Roman mile, or about 1000 paces. While the public resented following the law, Jesus commanded that "whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain." In other words, "go the extra mile" - go beyond what is expected in helping others.
 This summer, my family and I volunteered to cook for our church's summer youth camp - 150 campers and camp counselors - three meals a day. The event was a success. While I believe that each enjoyed the food, we were the ones that benefited the most. The giving of ourselves brought great joy.
Helping others provides a feeling of self worth and meaning. I challenge each of you to seek out the opportunity to serve others. Do not give the excuse that you do not have the time, or skills, or resources. If you seek out those in need and give of yourself, both you and the ones you helped will be blessed.

Probate is the process used to transfer the assests of a deceased person to those persons or entities that are legally entitled to such assets. It is a court supervised process where a judge determines the beneficiaries of the decedent's estate, requires the payment of all lawful debts, and ensures that the proper parties receive the assets of the decedent.
 The Florida Probate Code is found in Florida Statues Chapters 731 through 735 which govern the administration process. Probate is only required when a decedent dies leaving assets solely in his or her own name at the time of death. Usually a personal representative is appointed by the Court to take control of such assets, wind up the decedent's financial affairs, and distribute the decedent's assets to the proper beneficiary. The Court monitors the process and requires the personal representative to comply with the decedent's wishes or applicable law. |
