Eggs!!

They're almost here! Our large cooler is finally operational so we're planning to take delivery of our first shipment of farm-fresh, certified organic eggs from New Century Farm in Shullsburg, WI.  They'll be delivering on Tuesday (in their biofuel delivery truck) so will first be available for next Thursday's delivery.  If you plan on ordering, be sure to have a cooler with an ice pack (or cubes) available unless you'll be home for your delivery!

Keep it Coming!

The Early Season ends soon.  If you'd like to keep the veggies coming and haven't already signed up the the Mid or Late Seasons, it's not too late. Click here for more details.

~ A la Carte ~

Produce this week: Scallions, Vitamin Green. Always available: our own jarred products + honey, sunflower oil, and maple syrup from other farms....and eggs, subject to the note above.

Sign up online by 12 noon on the day before your delivery day.  Produce availability may vary day to day, so check back often.

Farm Visit, Potluck & Strawberries!
~  Sunday, June 17  ~
~
Updated information below
strawberry & sky

It's almost here and we have a nice group forming; if you wake up Sunday morning and the spirit moves you, you're still welcome to come. Here's how the visit is shaping up:

Approximate Schedule
11am ~ Arrival, introductions, lawn games, setup for
    lunch & strawberry-picking
12:30pm ~ Potluck lunch
1:30pm ~ Farm tour with Chris (an hour or so)

Strawberry Picking
We're done harvesting in some of our prolific strawberry beds, but they just keep coming!  Let us direct you to the beds available for picking and you're welcome to pick, eat, and take home as many as you'd like.

Potluck
We will provide a meat main dish, drinks, and a simple dessert. Please bring a side dish or salad to share if you're able. Chilled items are encouraged, but there will be limited access to our two house ovens for reheating dishes.

RSVP
We've received enough responses to have a general idea of how many to expect, but please call or text Robin (708-370-8017) if you have last-minute questions or a large group to add.  Again, if you decide on Sunday morning to come, please come ahead!

Ride Share
There are a few requests for ride shares; if you are able to offer a ride or if you still need one, please contact Robin ASAP.

What to Bring
  * Folding chair(s)
  * Frisbie, soccer ball, other lawn games
  * Hat and sunscreen (and consider wearing long sleeves and layers)
  * Close-toed shoes
  * Containers for collecting berries (we'll have open pint containers)
  * Cooler w/ice pack for transporting your berries home

Directions from Chicago
Take I-90 to Janesville exit 171B (US-14 West), follow Hwy 14 through Janesville, and in Evansville when Hwy 14 turns northward, stay straight through town to pick up County Road C (turn right). Continue on County C (jog south briefly at Hwy 104 to pick up County C), after 2-3 miles, cross County Rd E and go one more mile to Sandy Hook Road. Take a right at Sandy Hook. We're the first driveway on the right, with a big yellow house.
NOTE: If you need directions while en route, call Chris, 608-712-1585, or Kurt, 608-558-5754 (Robin's phone doesn't work too well at the farm).
