In honor of National Dance Week, EGD is proud to announce the First Annual Dance Olympics on Saturday, May 1, 4-8 pm at the Studio. Join us for an evening of fun and frolic as our dancers compete in events from the Skipping Obstacle Course, Leaps & Bounds, TP Tutu Fashion Show, Furious Fouettes, Arabesque Pose-Off, and more. Student Choreography Showcase
Check out the dance stars of the future at EGD's first annual Student Choreography Showcase on Saturday, April 17th at 4 4:30 pm at the Studio. EGD dancers will demonstrate their skills and artistry in numbers they choreographed themselves. Don't miss it!
This year's Showcase will star Madeline Wade, Sean Wade, Anastasia Woosley, Penelope Griffin, Madaya Eakins, Katherine Ramont, Samantha Weaver, Jesus Barraza, Angela Barraza and April Vega-Miranda.

Flamenco Workshop
The incredible Catalina Rio-Fernandez of Santa Fe, NM will return to OKC May 7-9 for her annual sojourn to impart Flamenco mastery to our students. The workshop is for all ages and levels. Please pick up a flyer at the front desk. Don't miss this opportunity to learn new moves, new techniques and new ideas.
For the first time ever, Catalina is offering a Bata de Cola workshop. The bata de cola is the intricate traditional Flamenco costume with a train. In this workshop the dancers will learn to use their costume as an element of the dance. Catalina is bringing batas for loan; the first 10 people who enroll may reserve them.
The workshops will also feature a live Flamenco guitarist. Also on the agenda - a workshop on Spanish cante (singing). Yes, parents, you're welcome to join the workshops!

Global Village Summer Camp 
It's the traveling-est, fun-est, jolliest and most fantastic summer camp ever! Save your spot now for EGD's Global Village Summer Daycamp. This full-day camp will run all summer long, June 7 thru August 20, 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. Check out the details on our website or call the Studio, 525.1000.
Daycampers will explore different regions, cultures and the natural world through music, dance, art, literature, games, sports and food. Toss in fantastic field trips, enticing goodies, guest artists and student-created productions and you have a recipe for a fantastic summer.
The Daycamp is for girls and boys ages 5 and up and is open to the general public - you don't have to be a dancer to enroll. Cost: $110/week for the full summer; if you choose the full session, families may take a week off for a vacation and we will hold your place at no cost. Siblings get a 10% discount.
Tuition includes 2
snacks/day, field trips and all supplies. Campers should bring a bag
lunch & drinks. If you sign up for just one week or for a few weeks here and there, the cost is $125/week. Just need one day of child care? Drop off your kids for a day of fun - just $30 plus the cost of any field trip planned for that day. Call ahead for reservations. |
