RIDE THE WAVE
The Triadic Adventure with
ROSS RAYBURN

An All Levels Anusara Yoga Weekend Workshop
 this coming weekend June 4-6

At Seattle Yoga Arts, we are particular about who we sponsor for workshops and only sponsor one visiting teacher a year.  This year, we are sponsoring Ross Rayburn, a talented star in the Anusara yoga firmament.

Ross says: "I started doing yoga in 1997 after I tore the meniscus in my left knee during the California AIDS ride.  A friend of mine suggested I try yoga as a way to rehabilitate.  I was dubious since I thought only women did yoga and that pretzel-like flexibility was a prerequisite (this was worrisome since I couldn't touch my toes!)

"Much to my surprise, I was hooked from the very first class.  For the next few years, all I did was take yoga classes.  My friends would say, "You're going to yoga, again?"  I was a little obsessive and would take two classes daily; it was an amazing time of learning and playing."

"In the summer of 1999, I took a workshop with John Friend at Yoga Works in Santa Monica.  I knew there was something different the moment the class started; I knew that I'd found someone I really wanted to follow.

"When I got a wonderfully sweet taste of how rewarding helping people through Anusara Yoga could be, I realized that this is what I was meant to do."

Seattle Yoga Arts is excited to sponsor Ross for his first workshop in Seattle.  His teaching will focus on the fundamental energy construction of the triad of three.  Triads are omnipresent, and like the elements of the breath, the wave-like creation, refinement, and dissolving is with us every moment of the day.  We'll explore myriad triadic frameworks through meditation, asana, and of course, what we do off the mat. It's going to be an adventure, a Triadic Adventure... Ride the Wave!
