Vision

These sequences of movements,
This woven breath,
Bodies moving purposefully through space,
The power of unity,
A community of potency and revelation.

This is the yoga cauldron,
Where we bring our bodies and hearts,
To the crucible of the mat,
And move in the great space,
Of the yoga mysteries.

As the body changes shapes,
The mind and heart follow,
Opening, allowing,
Containing, embracing,
We luminously awaken
Our subtle circuitry.

This practice contains streams
Of light from long ago,
Carefully tended through the ages,
Sparks of freedom handed down,
From heart to heart.

What good fortune to be the beneficiary
Of those long ago visionaries, and
Their refinement of the life force,
Their dedicated lives.

They have illuminated the way,
We have only to light
The living fire of our yearning,
And their vision enters
These body vessels.
